Description

At a time when there is increased awareness of depression and the ‘natural disaster of the century’ that now occurs almost every year, The Gift of Nature: Inspiring Hope & Resilience is uplifting as it applies the timeless wisdom of Mother Nature to human nature. Personal resilience and the global environment are hot topics and this book addresses both in a unique way.   The Gift of Nature offers readers hope and strength through insights and inspirational quotes from an author who has bounced back from setbacks. During waves of change or winds of woe, when our clarity of thinking vanishes in a mist of tears, lessons of resilience from a wondrous array of natural resources and human endeavors can help us clear the mental fog and better cope with the challenges of living.

Author Biography:

Catherine De Vyre is an outstanding communicator with proven international leadership experience in the private and public sectors, who speaks globally on change and turning obstacles into opportunities in professional and personal lives. She is a full-time professional speaker on the international circuit – and has spoken to diverse audiences on five continents and twice voted Australian Keynote Speaker of the Year.   The author understands resilience from both a professional and personal perspective: from an orphanage in Canada to a scholarship in the USA; from her adoptive parents’ deaths from cancer when she was 21 to her own recovery as a cancer survivor; from arriving in Australia jobless to joining IBM, being named Australian Executive Woman of the Year and Keynote Speaker of the Year and honored by carrying the Olympic torch on the day of the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics in 2000.   Author of eight books of non-fiction, including three bestsellers translated into over a dozen languages. Catherine’s memoir, Who Says I Can’t?, was nominated for the National Biography Award. Author Location: Manly Beach, Sydney, Australia
