Up to a certain period the Jews are regarded, and with justice, as the depositories of all that can be known of God. To them pertained the adeption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God and the promises. Theirs were the fathers, and of them, as concerning the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever.
