Once again Joanne Harris and Fran Warde have collaborated to write a French Cookbook with a difference. This time they have gone to Gascony for their inspiration and into the world of the French rural market. The best ingredients in season, locally produced fruit, vegetables, wines and cheeses combine to make it a recipe for success. Nerac Melon with Floc, Foie Gras with Peaches, Summer Duck Salad and Roasted Stuffed Courgettes are only some of the recipes that will help recapture the tastes of summertime and the authentic French regional experience.
Joanne Harris is the author of the Whitbread-shortlisted Chocolat (made into a major film starring Juliette Binoche), Blackberry Wine, Five Quarters of the Orange, Coastliners, Holy Fools, Jigs & Reels, Sleep Pale Sister, Gentlemen & Players and, with Fran Warde, The French Kitchen- A Cookbook and The French Market- More Recipes from a French Kitchen. She lives in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, with her husband and daughter. Fran Warde's career has been fuelled by a passion for food. Trained as a chef, she worked at the Cafe Royal, on an Australian prawn trawler, ran her own cookery school and then moved into food styling and food writing. She was the food editor at RED magazine and is the author of FOOD FOR FRIENDS, EAT, DRINK, LIVE and THIRTY MINUTE ITALIAN. She lives in West London with her husband and two children.
