The generals pretending to receive his advice with great fatisfaetion, propofed his taking the command of the army when they fhould de camp; that he fhould go before hand to View the ground, and chufe an advantageous pof'r, for which he was well qualified by his former campaigns in the country, and that they would give him a century of chofen youth armed for expedition. Sz'ooz'ur having accepted the commiffion, and defired an hundred chofen light-armed men to attend him, they without delay fent him out while it was night, and with him the hundred men, whom they'had picked out as the molt daring of their faetion, with order to kill him, promifing them great rewards for the murder: and 55661245 by reafon of his age back, and the foldiers on foot, when they came to a mountainous place, at a great dif'tance from the camp, where the road was narrow, and fo uneven that it was difficult for a horfe to go any other pace than a walk, the fignal was given, and they affembled with an intent to return upon him in a body: but a fer who was his fhield-bearer, and a brave man.
