Phil Berling was born in Chicago and lived on the Southside (Go White Sox) until 1980. He migrated to California and presently lives with his wife, Zoila, in Bakersfield. He's held various and sundry jobs, from teller at a savings & loan to forklift driver and even did a stint as a production stage manager in LA. His pastimes include weed abatement ('gardening'), biking the Kern River Parkway and writing questionable prose. This is his first novel.
