The Feelers Best Of '98 - '08 previews

I am of the opinion that a band has to earn the right to release a best of compilation – it should not be something that ‘just happens’ to be released near christmas, and to fill a gap in a release schedule. Personally, I don't like the Feelers. I will admit that they have written some good tunes (Pressure Man being my clear favorite), but their penchant for ripping off other, better songs wholesale and then adding whiny, rhyming lyrics over the top of them just turns me off. Is Christchurch really so hard up for talent that these guys have to be regarded as local heroes? Come on New Zealand! support TALENTED local acts like the Mint Chicks, instead of these half baked shoe gazers! If your a fan of derivative, uninspired, mediocre rhyme-rock, then be my guest, click on the ‘add to trolley’ button. Others should look elsewhere for their fix of guitar driven pop.
