Well being as a person who usually listens to metal, this was very different for me… The Fame uses many synthesizers and stuff like that but ultimately feels original but… strange. It's like a strange mix of techno, disco, rap, and many other things…

The singing is very strange first off, it's like… talk singing but with actual singing mixed with pauses and randomness… umm well if you've heard Just Dance you probably know what I'm trying to say. Overall an okay album, I guess mainstream C4 listeners will like it.

"Great Sound!"
4 stars"

This cd is full of tracks that will be big on the charts and it shows. It features the US1# hit singles Just Dance and Poker Face and also feature LoveGame, which has so far reached number 6# in the US. Also other standout tracks are Paparazzi, The Fame, Starstruck, Paper Gangsta, Beautiful, Dirty, Rich and Money Honey. The rest of the tracks, I thought that they weren't great. But overall this is a great pop/dance album.

"A fresh new face"
4 stars"

After hearing the first two hits (Just Dance & Pokerface) before purchasing the CD it was very surprising that the rest of the CD was so different to the two hits everyone had heard. I think that there was a good mix of pop and an interesting variety of sounds. On the first listen I wasn't too impressed but it certainly grows on you. I'm glad Lady Gaga isn't like your other pop princesses and is a bit more edgy. Definately worth a listen, although you might need a few goes at it before you get it.

It's been a while since a new pop artist has made her way in the music industry the old-fashioned/grass roots way by paying her dues with seedy club gigs and self-promotion. This is one rising pop star who hasn't been plucked from a model casting call, born into a famous family, won a reality TV singing contest, or emerged from a teen cable TV sitcom. “I did this the way you are supposed to. I played every club in New York City and I bombed in every club and then killed it in every club and I found myself as an artist. I learned how to survive as an artist, get real, and how to fail and then figure out who I was as singer and performer. And, I worked hard.” The CD's opener and first single, “Just Dance,” gets the dance floor rocking with it's “fun, L.A., celebratory vibe.” As for the equally catchy, “Boys Boys Boys,” Gaga doesn't mind wearing her influences on her sleeve. “I wanted to write the female version of Motley Crue's 'Girls Girls Girls,' but with my own twist. I wanted to write a pop song that rockers would like.”
