Elf brothers Jack and George are stranded on an island. A fairy grants Jack a wish which he uses for the benefit of his brother, while George thinks only of his own comfort. George is ashamed of his behaviour, and resolves to be more thoughtful in future: both elves are flown home to safety on a magic carpet. The "journey" of the title refers to George's moral journey, learning to be less selfish in his attitude. This is a charming fable of consideration and thoughtfulness, set in the magical world of the village of Tralado created by Rosita Bird and beautifully brought to life by Sarah Waterfield's colourful illustrations.

Author Biography

Rosita is married with two children. She has worked as a legal secretary, a childminder, nursery assistant, and as an accommodation provider for fostered teenagers. She attributes former health problems to not eating properly as a child, thus many of her books are aimed at encouraging healthy eating and have received positive feedback from Jamie Oliver's team. In addition several of them raise money for various charities.
