Katie is a struggling actress who unexpectedly finds herself on the cusp of stardom when she lands the starring role in the mini-series adaptation of a wildly popular erotic novel. Paul is her loveable stoner boyfriend who is less than thrilled with the idea of his girlfriend participating in the sexually explicit project. Tensions arise further when Paul discovers that the male lead in the mini-series is a hunky Hollywood movie star.
The Dramatics – A Comedy Reviews
“The story and writing are clever, and have a perfect balance of dark humor and the old “Boyfriend and girlfriend act selfishly and have to learn lessons to make things work” angle. The entire cast are wonderful and there are some fun cameos like Rosemarie DeWitt as Katie’s therapist, and Sean Astin as a snobby actor (as well as Katie’s ex). Both Rodgers and Foster turn in strong performances and have great on screen chemistry.” – The Film Philosopher
“The Dramatics (A Comedy) is a different kind of romantic comedy. It’s a film that takes a look at what happens at home while actors are “in love” with another person at work. There aren’t too many, if any, movies that explore this side of Hollywood.” – Flicksided
