Dianne Stewart lives in Natal, South Africa. She studied Psychology and African languages in order to be able to communicate with the people around her in their own languages. Her first title for Frances Lincoln was The Gift of the Sun. Jude Daly was born in London and emigrated to South Africa as a young child. She went to art school in Cape Town, where she now lives with her husband, the writer and illustrator Niki Daly, and their two sons. Her previous titles for Frances Lincoln are The Gift of the Sun; her own retelling of an Irish Cinderella story entitled Fair Brown and Trembling; Diane Hofmeyr's Egyptian creation story The Star-Bearer; and The Elephant's Pillow by Diana Reynolds Roome. Her book The Stone, written by Dianne Hofmeyr, has recently won the Katrine Harries Award for Children's Illustration.
