Description

Dickens began publishing the weekly periodical Household Words in 1850, and it was incorporated in 1859 into All the Year Round, which he edited until his death. This anthology brings together the best pieces of his journalism from 1859-1870.

Author Biography

Michael Slater is Professor of Victorian Literature at Birkbeck College in the University of London. He was editor of The Dickensian (1968-77) and President of the International Dickens Fellowship (1988-90). He has published many books and articles on Dickens.
