"Inspires ideas but no real instructions"
2 stars"

This is more of an inspiration book, as there is very little in the way of instructions. It's more like a magazine than a craft book. It's also more geared at adults or requires you to source materials that are not readily available (e.g. For soap and candle making, specific clasps for jewellery). Also seems expensive for what it is – soft cover, few instructions, some typos and missing words.

Description

Parents everywhere begin questioning: what am I going to do with the kids all summer?! Author and artist Eli Maor knows the best way to keep kids and parents happy is crafting - and it doesn't have to get too fancy to be fun! Maor, a "crafting minimalist," specializes in using what is all around us to create beautiful, fun crafts and DIY projects. With a passion for recycling, upcycling, and just using what you have on hand, Maor creates gorgeous and fun projects from common household objects like toilet paper rolls, fabric scraps, even sticks and twigs from the back yard."If you scan the space which you are sitting at right now, you will find you are surrounded by numerous objects you don't use very often," Maor says. "Those objects can easily be turned into a fun project. There is beauty in appreciating reused items and seeing everything - old and new alike - as art."Crafting and making art is very individual. These moments are completely yours.Even if you don't have access to all of the materials, you can be creative and experiment. If you prefer to use one type of material over the other, or if you prefer glue over sewing, do so. The main purpose is to enjoy it and create your vision at every moment. There is no need for any special skills for the projects in this book. However, those who sell artwork and wish to obtain the maximum results should stick to the projects and supplies as written. With that being said, there is no right or wrong way to craft and to make art, it comes down to having fun and express yourself. This book contains 92 DIY, crafts and art projects. Under each category, you will find the required supply for each project and a tutorial. At the end of the book, you will find stencils that will help you trace shapes and silhouettes for the projects. This book is the ultimate guide to DIY and Craft projects, organized by subjects. Contains step-by-step photographs and detailed instructions, features - Colors, Nature Craft, Stamps, Washi Tape, Soap Making, Candle Making, Recycling Art, Repurposing, Accessories, Fabric and Textile, Buttons, Paper and Paper Napkins.

Author Biography:

My name is Eli Maor. I was raised in a home that breathed art and content. I absorbed creativity with my entire essence. During my youth, I spent hours at my parent's publishing house - inhaling the color fumes from the printing machines, copying and cutting fonts on old light tables. The publishing house was the first workplace I was exposed to. Over the years, the passion for learning burned within me and I finished my B.A. in Media and business management, and later on started my interior design studies. The media side exposed me to photography and editing. The management side gave me the tools to manage a business. In order to finance my college studies, I worked at art sales booths and sold handmade craft I created - jewelry, wreaths, hair accessories and anything that looked beautiful to me that could make any person or space happier, colorful and creative. Along the way, I created hundreds of pixelart drawings in Griddlers.net. These drawings brought me recognition and a lot of love and appreciation. After my mom passed away I found comfort in creating and sharing my art. I started my YouTube channel that contains many of the ideas, that inspired me to share my everyday lifestyle. The "Craft Kingdom" book was born after years of working with any material I could get my hands on, workshops I taught, accumulating information about crafts and a lot of trial and error. This book contains practical and creative information in order to inspire and motivate anyone to create and embellish everything you wish.
