He is their only child, a child that had taken them years to concieve. So when Stevie falls violently ill, Harry and Sarah Fertig rush their son to hospital for emergecy care. But their desperate pleas fall on deaf ears and after hours of neglect, Stevie dies in Harry's arms. It is an unnecessary tragedy and one that Harry cannot accept. Six weeks later, he heads back to the hospital and guns down the nurse, doctor and clerk he believes responsible for Stevie's death. Harry pleads guilty to murder, a decision he says honours his young son. But Harry's boss wants him to alter his plea to not guildty by reason of insanity and hires hot-shot lawyer to convince Harry to change and then get him off... but the boss' motives are much more sinister in nature.
