Jesus has power! It isn't the power of kings or tyrants. It isn't even the power of bosses. In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told of the meek who, ordinarily, would not be expected to achieve much in this life, but Jesus said they inherit THE EARTH. Jesus talked of the weary, and we say we need more relaxation, more sleep. Of course we may, but Jesus also demonstrated that God can charge our batteries. Our idea of success is to achieve a prominent position in our group or corporation, but Jesus said whoever would be great must "deny himself and take up his cross." Can we succeed with the values of Jesus? Certainly we have our goals: Payments on the mortgage, vacations in interesting places, and getting an education for our kids. What could Jesus mean when he said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added"? Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within you." Today many people have experience, knowledge, and even motivation, but they're locked up inside. The uncommon power of Jesus can release new life within us.
