This story is fascinating with having Death as the narrator. Susan uses language beautifully.

This is one of those special books that you don't see very often. It is written in such a unique way that it carries you through this wonderful story with a big helping of history and a dash of dark humor, as well as a gem of a perspective that often isn't told. I would recommend this to everyone and anyone. *Spoiler: Not many WW2 stories have happy endings, but this one tells it with a lot of reality.

Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • ONE OF TIME MAGAZINE’S 100 BEST YA BOOKS OF ALL TIME The extraordinary, beloved novel about the ability of books to feed the soul even in the darkest of times. When Death has a story to tell, you listen. It is 1939. Nazi Germany. The country is holding its breath. Death has never been busier, and will become busier still.
