A corpse and a skeleton upend widower Jake Brown's escape to Paradise, a Midwest United States town he thinks peaceful. He parks his big rig to search for acceptance in a ballroom's five-person acting troupe and Saturday night dances. Police don't believe he didn't know the dead woman found in his truck's trailer. Before Jake can convince police he's innocent, he's present when a male skeleton is unearthed at the state park where Jake has secured temporary employment. Three female links to the local play, who are also balldroom dancers, complicate Jake's every move. A restlessness Jake never knew when Athena, his wife and driving partner lived, adds turmoil. Could he love another woman, not Athena? Who has been spying on him? Threatens his existence? Would it matter if he's convicted first and jailed, then killed, or killed before he proves his innocence?
