Description

Never again confuse your vintage with your viticulture, your ullage with your oenology, your sabrage with your cepage. Bask in the admiration of your fellow drinkers, pronounce confidently on the provenance of whatever is in your glass (or your mouth), and hold your own against the most sneering of sommeliers.

Author Biography

Jonathan Goodall has written for Wine & Spirit International and has been editor of Decanter wine magazine. Never afraid of hands-on research, he has since written about all facets of booze for, among others, The Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Spectator and Saga magazine. He has also written books, too humorous to mention, about beer and cocktails. Harry Eyres was for several years a Times drama critic, and has written widely for a number of journals, including The Spectator and Harpers. He has published a number of books on issues ranging from travel to wine with a classical perspective. Harry is also a published poet, whose work includes classical translations.
