Description

Edward Bellamy (18501898) was an American author and socialist, most famous for his utopian novel Looking Backward, which was set in the year 2000. His books include Dr. Heidenhoff's Process (1880), Miss Ludington's Sister (1884), The Duke of Stockbridge (1900), and the utopian novels Looking Backward: 20001887 (1888), and its sequel, Equality (1897). This story begins as a professor is studying Mars through his telescope. As he is starring at Mars he faints. He is found in the morning and there is a manuscript beside him. The narrative tells of his time on Mars where he met the Martians.
