Description

Born in 1968 in Fort Collins, Colorado but raised in Wyoming. At thirteen his idle doodlings became a passion to "make beauty" and "something I had to do". But a childhood in Wyoming had its drawbacks. With a paucity of material he ended up drawing from his sister's fashion magazines! Erik enrolled in the Colorado Institute of Art in 1987 and, progressing from skeletons to live models, graduated in 1989 to...nothing. Work was scarce and interest less so. So he did what many a red blooded American youth does and enrolled in the Marine Corps! And by a quirk of fate that was the making of the artist when a fellow Marine requested he do a commission for him. Now out of the service, Erik is 'making beauty' full time and here you see the first fruits of that labour in book form. Text in German and English. Art Fantastix is a series of illustrated books dedicated to Pin-Up and Fantasy Art from around the globe. From household names like Clyde Caldwell (TSR) and John Bolton (Batman) to exciting newcomers like Dorian Cleavenger and Michael Mobius. Every book concentrates on the work of one artist and shows uninterrupted full colour images including many full and double page spreads. Quality printing on heavy paper with a complete index including model references where known, they waste little time on anything but the results. German and English text.
