Excerpt from The Archon, Vol. 21: February 10, 1934 Accordingly on January 17 the Secret Six, not yet sure whether action in actually raising money should begin this year or not, met and explained their ideas to Mr. Eames. Two days later Mr. Eames brought back some new and carefully thought out ideas which, when added to the original ones, make the present plan. Following this the committee thought it best to sound out the spirit of the rest of the student body by enlarging the original group to twenty. This was done, and on Monday evening, January 22, this entire body voted most enthusiastically for carrying out the plan, still a secret to the rest of the school. Two days later, the evening of a free day was devoted entirely to explaining the ideas to the rest of the boys. George Tryon, as act ing chairman of the original six, presided over this meeting and introduced as first speaker Mr. Eames who clearly outlined the complete plan. Every one of the six made a short talk on different phases of the plan, and the chair man explained the purpose of seven student committees.
