Excerpt from The Annual Report of the Committee of the Baptist Missionary Society: Addressed to the General Meeting, Held at Great Queen Street Chapel, on Thursday, June 22nd, 1820; Being a Continuation of the Periodical Accounts Relative to the Said Society From Malda no recent accounts have been received. The station is still occupied by Krishna, who constantly preaches in the neighbourhood, and continues to itinerate, as much as his declining strength will allow. It does not appear that any one has yet been appointed to join him, in order to share his exertions. Indeed, there seems reason to apprehend, that, though this spot was almost the first in Bengal where the inhabitants heard the' gospel in their own language, it has hitherto met with a less favorable reception than in many places where it was introduced much more recently. Still, say our Serampore brethren, l'n adverting to this fact, we humbly h0pe that Malda will at length be visited by divine grace, and possess a church which shall hold forth the word of life to those around them.
