Description

Welcome to Tavern at Honeysuckle Hill, located in Shelton, Connecticut where a young couple, Merline and Daniel, buy their dream home. An old, ramshackle house attracts them with its beauty and history and they begin the process of making it their own. But they may have more than they bargained for when they realize they're not alone-an ancient Indian spirit may have other plans. Based on the real-life Legend of Lillinoah, the beautiful Indian daughter of Chief Waramaug, who met with a tragic fate because of unrequited love, Tavern at Honeysuckle Hill introduces a host of former inhabitants: the Pootatuck Indians, English settlers, a naval family, artists, actors, and gypsies. Can Merline and Daniel make the home their own or will past inhabitants make it impossible? What will they discover about the true history of their property? Written with warmth and wit, and revealed through the home's history and droll sense of humor, this modern-day, supernatural tale will delight you and have you wondering about things that go bump in the night! Marion Marchetto was born in Derby, Connecticut and is a die-hard "Nutmugger." Her debut novel, a prequel to Tavern at Honeysuckle Hill, was published in 2005 and won an Editor's Choice Award. She has always been drawn to mystery and history. During the 1990s, she created a series of murder-mystery games that will ultimately be adapted to future novels. Ms. Marchetto has been featured in Emerald Coast Magazine and the Connecticut Post newspaper. She is currently working on her third book of the series. Marchetto and her husband of 36 years, live in Navarre, Florida.
