Description

Celebrating A City And Its People

Sydney in Time is a rich and powerful story that charts the evolution of Sydney from its early years as a colonial outpost through to its emergence as a dynamic world city. The one-hour documentary looks back at the people, places and front page stories that have shaped a great city and helped define Australia.

Relive many great moments, from the building of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, to the staging of the ‘greatest Olympic Games ever’. The fascinating story of Bondi is featured and we learn about the contribution made to Sydney by migrants settling here from all parts of the world. Sydney’s rich and colourful history is brought to life with rare archival footage and photographs and features music from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

The documentary was produced to mark the 175th Anniversary of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald and is hosted by Herald columnist and best-selling author, Peter FitzSimons.
