This study is devoted to switching regulators of all kinds, covering the accurate determination of the characteristics and component requirements and comparing them with developed and dimensioned examples. The reader will learn how to acquire the necessary basic principles and how to ensure that a suitably designed circuit will function as desired. Component manufacturers' actual data sheets are used throughout the text to show the sources of the required data. The text also includes a special chapter devoted to an examination of the characteristics and peculiarities of most of the integrated drive circuits available on the market. Switching frequencies from 20 kHz to about 100 kHz are employed.
