Each volume comprises 20 concertina ring-bound three-page foldout ship plans printed on superior 50gsm paper stock. A large-scale external profile, plan view and bow/stern drawing of each vessel is provided on one side of the foldout, while the reverse is complete with a superb colouring guide artwork, a detailed summary of the ship's history, full specifications and a number of contextual photographs and drawings. All volumes in the series include a 16-page introductory section on the design, construction and development of the featured ships as well as an historical overview. Submarines and U-Boats of the Second World War features a major warship type which dictated much of the Second World War at sea across the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific.This Plan Portfolio presents 20 boats selected from the German, American, British, Japanese, French and Italian navies including the Royal Navy 'T', 'S' and 'U' class, the German type- IXB, VIIC, XXI and XXIII U-boats, and the innovative Japanese B1 class.

Author Biography

John Jordan is Editor of the Warship annual. He lives in Gosport, Hants. He is an expert on the international navies of the twentieth century. Ross Watton has produced a number of titles in the Conway Anatomy of the Ship series including The Battleship Warspite and The Aircraft Carrier Victorious.
