Description

Day after day, archaeologist Howard Carter and his crew search the endless sand in the Valley of the Kings for a sign, a clue. Everyone thinks he's crazy. All the tombs of the ancient kings of Egypt were looted long ago. Carter is sure that one still lies hidden--the tomb of King Tut! But are the old stories true? If he finds the tomb and King Tut's mummy, will the treasure come with a deadly curse? History Stepping Stones now feature updated content that emphasizes Common Core and today's renewed interest in nonfiction. Perfect for home, school, and library bookshelves! When the pharoahs of Egypt died, they were mummified and buried in pyramids and tombs with all their riches. But as centuries passed, the tombs were looted and the pharoahs' gold stolen. Then Howard Carter found the greatest Egyptian treasure trove of all-the tomb of King Tut's mummy! But did the amazing treasure come with a deadly curse?
