Steins;Gate is simply awesome. Revolving around a mad scientist and his lab group who accidentally turn their microwave into a time machine… hilarity ensues. However, this is not a light-hearted show, and explores the ethical and psychological problems associated with messing with time. The characters are well developed with their own distinct personalities. Character progression is also well done and none of the core group are left seeming two-dimensional. I would class this as a thriller/drama anime. Action is kept to a minimum, but when it occurs is used to great effect. While I do not agree with some of the scientific concepts being thrown around in this show (I am a Masters student in Physics) I cannot deny it has a whacky kind of charm. So if you are looking for a thought provoking and intelligent (if not strictly scientifically correct) anime , I would highly recommend this. It really is fantastic.
