The knowledge accumulated in the first two books (Runeweaver and Timeweaver) must now be put into practice again when a third Circle of Dreams is revealed that may heal the rifts created by Zaine in Book 1. If not, time will slow until it stops all together.
Shortly after Zaine's 13th birthday a stranger comes to town and offers a copper coin to anyone who tries to open a book. It is just like the rune book Zaine had seen and, puzzled at the others' failure, Zaine opens it...and so starts Zaine's journey that will reveal who he really is and just what powers he has to affect the world.
