If you've ever wanted to be in a star wars movie then, this is pretty close.
Set after the events of A New Hope and the destruction of the first Death Star, players can take on the roles of Rebel Operatives trying to get to the bottom of a new Imperial Plot. One player must be the imperials and throw Stormtroopers, AT-STs, and even Darth Vader at the other players.
This is not just one game, but two. You have the standard campaign, where players go through a series of stories, level up their characters, buy new equipment and have a rollicking good time. The best thing, is that this game has a lot of replayability as you will not see every mission in the game. I think it would take at least 3 campaigns (provided you win or lose the right missions) to see everything and considering each campaign consists of 10–12 missions and side missions, each taking around 45–90 minutes to get through, that's a good amount of play time.
The other game is a miniatures skirmish type game, where you build a squad, pick your command cards, and play 1 on 1. The base game comes with 1 skirmish map and two modes, but the first edition also includes the Luke and Darth Vader figures which each have a skirmish map and 2 modes of play. The cool thing is you can make your own map and create your own objective based mode very, very easily.
It's not often a single board game will give you two different ways of playing it straight out of the box.
Now I'm hoping that the Ape will be getting in all the single character expansion packs so I can replace the tokens with the actual plastic minis.
