I'm going to rate the DVD here, not the film.

Picture Quality is as good as you would expect from a digital source to digital transfer. Basically the film looks great on DVD, no real surprise there.

I thought the soundmix was terrible though. What's particularly noticeable is the music is played at a subtle volume level, and there are certain flourishes in the soundtrack that you would expect to have been given a little more oomph on the DVD. A great example of this is the entrance of General Grievous on Utapau.

Having said that, some parts are done really well, mostly in the opening 8 minutes of the film. What is really well done during this sequence is you really get a sense that you are in a 3D soundspace. Generally speaking this doesn't carry throughout the film, for example when Palapatine smashes the glass in one of the fight scenes in the film all the sound comes from the front 2 speakers. While this is understandable, you do wish that there was some use of the rears for the sound of tinkling glass fragments and in fact the general feeling throughout is that the overall soundmix could have been done better than it was, but the sound quality is top notch.

Extras are typical for a Star Wars prequel release, although there are less of them. One pleasant surprise is there are about 3 TV spots that never appeared online. The easter egg featuring Yoda is terrible, and I couldn't find any blooper reel which is a shame as it has been a highlight of the previous DVD's. You also wont find any fun little animations in the credits of the doco's, which is disappointing.
