"Excellent with Expansion"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game has to be among my top 10 favourite Strategy games and i really love the Space battles their so different compared to most strategy games and so much fun. Galactic conquest is always fun as well. Great 10/10 game.

"Perfect Star Wars game, easy to play but challenging."

Purchased on Mighty Ape

Has a great Star Wars ‘feel’ to it and was a real surprise with new strategy parts to it. Loved the space battles too! Highly recommended.

"Few problems but great"
5 stars"

Only problem on a Vista 32 bit with 4gb ram was the expansion pack didn't want to run without being in xp compatabilty mode with a XML fix from lucas arts but this was less of a pain than removing an exception off my router for Homefront's Multiplayer router issue

Star Wars: Empire at War is a real-time-strategy game set in the Star Wars universe and takes place a few years before the events of Episode IV.

This Gold Edition pack contains:

  • Star Wars: Empire at War
  • Star Wars: Forces of Corruption expansion

“Star Wars fans finally get to play a strategy game worthy of the license.” 8.7/10 – Gamespot (Empire at War)
“A colossal game from the geniuses that brought us all "Command and Conquer.” 9/10 – IC Games (Empire at War)
“..a great addition to the Empire at War saga” 8.1/10 – Gamespot (Forces of Corruption)

Empire at War

Command an entire war for the Star Wars Galaxy! This real-time strategy takes place between Episode III and Episode IV, in the wake of the Jedi slaughter that has disrupted the balance of the force. Players wage ground and space battles all in an effort to gain control of the galaxy. All of the gameplay and action within Empire at War is persistent – strategic and tactical elements from previous events will have a permanent effect on the galaxy.

  • Real-time strategy game takes place between the two trilogies through “A New Hope”
  • Play with a multitude of heroes for each side, each with their own abilities
  • Control the battle between Rebel and Empire forces on both land and in space
  • Dual-layered game play requires you to manage both strategic and tactical levels
  • Play campaign across more than 40 planets, or play multiplayer with up to 8 players

Forces of Corruption Expansion

This expansion pack presents a new, unique point of view of the Galactic Civil War as, for the first time ever, you play as an aspiring Underworld figure. Corruption runs through your veins and drives your desire to become the most notorious criminal leader since Jabba the Hutt…

  • Experience the timeframe depicted in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi through an entirely new point of view as criminal mastermind Tyber Zann.
  • Spreading corruption is the key to Underworld dominance.
  • New hero characters such as Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and bounty hunters like Bossk and IG-88 use their own distinct special abilities in battle.
  • New additions to land-tactical action include terrain modifiers, bunkers, mobile defenses and troop transports.
  • Conquer 13 newly added planet maps (Bespin’s Cloud City, Mustafar, Kamino, Utapau, Felucia, Mandalore and more), plus all 43 in the Empire at War core product

“Star Wars fans finally get to play a strategy game worthy of the license…As a strategy game, Empire at War delivers a true Star Wars experience. If you're into AT-ATs stomping around battlefields, Darth Vader knocking over 20 soldiers with Force push, or space battles thick with dozens of fighters swarming in between gargantuan capital ships, Empire at War will deliver all that in a fun, compelling package. You can't really lose in any game in which you can blow up a planet with the Death Star, can you? Combined with a presentation that is as epic as the films that inspired the game and a slick, dual-layered strategy design, Empire at War is easily recommendable to any strategy fan, especially those who are fond of George Lucas' space classic.” 8.7/10 – Gamespot (Empire at War)

“Not only is this a great game but like most Star Wars videogames, the production values are beyond reproach. The game looks fantastic.” 9/10 Cheat Code Central (Empire at War)

“…Gamers who are looking for an authentic Star Wars experience will not be disappointed with this one. It evokes all the charm and excitement of the childhood action figure wars that have been fought all across the nation over the last thirty years…” 7.6/10 – IGN (Empire at War)

“A colossal game from the geniuses that brought us all "Command and Conquer.” 9/10 – IC-Games (Empire at War)

“Forces of Corruption is a great addition to the Empire at War saga thanks to an interesting new faction that offers up a different way to conquer the galaxy…Most expansion packs either add much more of the same content, or try to shake up the gameplay by introducing new ways to play the game. Forces of Corruption offers a little of both, as you can still enjoy controlling the forces of the Rebels and the Empire, but you can also have fun being a criminal, too. Aside from the performance issues, if you put it all together, this is a great entry in the Empire at War saga.” 8.1/10 – Gamespot (Forces of Corruption)

“Those who disliked the repetitiveness of the original game will definitely appreciate the new faction, the new campaign and the units and abilities.” 8.5/10 – IGN (Forces of Corruption)

“A great new dimension is brought to the already stimulating Empire at War game. With more units more missions and a whole new faction to play with this game is great. Now go corrupt the galaxy.” 9/10 – PC Gameworld (Forces of Corruption)
