Description

This second edition of Volume 2 of the Spirit Dogs Trilogy follows Ivan the Australian Shepherd, who has just died in a car crash with his beloved Sarah. It wasn't time for Sarah's life to end, but it is time for Ivan to prepare for his next incarnation, a hero of such magnitude that he will become the next leader of Dog Heaven. To his dismay, he is put in charge of five other new arrivals and must manage their exploration of their previous lives, what it means to be a "whole" dog, and how their spiritual growth would best be served in their next incarnation. Ivan proceeds with a huge sense of self-doubt and must face the evil Garmr in Ivan's quest to understand who he was in his last lifetime, who he is now, and who he will be in the future.

Author Biography:

Susan Kelleher is the author of The Spirit Dogs Trilogy, and this is Volume 2. Volume 1 is entitled Spirit Dogs: Heroes In Heaven. It is an illustrated short story for those grieving the loss of a canine companion. Volume 3 is entitled Spirit Dogs: Heroes Return. Kelleher's first two volumes have won major book awards, and the third was just released in 2013. She has three graduate degrees, one of which is a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University. She has also written, under her real name, Susan L. Metzger, a very different type of novel called Two Boys. It is based on the true case of a satanic cult operating a child pornography ring out of a daycare centervery different from the talking dogs in The Spirit Dogs Trilogy.
