Speed wins a practice race and qualifies as a driver. Speed is able to enter the Sword Mountain Race, which has a first prize of $5,000 and has to compete against "dirty driver" Duggery. He also has to protect the Mach 5 from Ace Ducey and his Motorcycle gang.

For his next challenge, Speed urged by Trixie, enters The Trans Country Race, where he is to compete against Zoomer Slick from the Alpha Team and the mysterious Masked Racer.
