I was so hopeful for this game. A diablo clone, but done in a futuristic realm. The moment i saw it i wanted to buy it.
I was automatically disappointed – it wouldn't get to the load screen, even after multiple re-installs (with and without the 1.3 patch). I eventually got it to work on another computer.
The few reviews I’ve read speak true. The ray guns – all use energy cells to fire. Energy cells are your form of currency. The item durability wears down way too quickly (your inventory won't even be filled up halfway before you have to head back to town). The controls are … less than desirable. The items – i thought this was sci-fi but you start off the game with a ray gun, a club, and a sling. I quickly picked up a bow after killing the first few monsters. What bugged me the most was the dialog. It wasn't written well at all (annoying grammar mistakes that were even noticeable to one of my capabilities…)
The best thing about this game is the soundtrack. I could go to sleep to it it's that nice.
ACTION -- Space Hack is not for the faint-hearted. Constant stream of ugly monsters guarantees non-stop hacking, slashing and shooting. Fights are dynamics, weapons are lethal and special effects are extra-cool!
