10/10 – yes I know, “thats too high” you might say. Just had to post on here as I have just clocked the game, (do people still say clocked? I dunno, I'm old skool I guess). I've been a Sonic fan since way back when I first got my Sega Megadrive (Genesis) when I was about 11 years old and the game that came with it was Sonic 2. I have to say that this is the first game I've had for my xbox that I have totally loved and haven't been able to put down. Even the frustrating parts, like the fact that Eggmanland takes like an hour, with no seperate acts, I still loved it. It wasn't totally B.S. either like the Sonic game that came out earlier on xbox. I got Sonic Unleashed on preorder (with a free beach ball) from Might Ape and played it as soon as I got it home and have been playing it every other night till I have finished it. I've still got a few acheivements to get. I think the music in this game is really sonicesque and love the rock theme tune, plus the grand orchestral theme tune.
Okay, so as for the actual gameplay…
The Hedgehog day scenes were changelling but relatively simple and easy to control. As you work through the game you gain more abilities, for example being able to jump from wall to wall. As for the Tails flying stages, (by the way isn't Tales a boy? so how come he sounds like a girl?), that some of the people below have bagged, I found them kinda refreshing, and it breaks up the game a bit too.
The night Werehog stages I loved too. It was cool being able to bash things up and get better combos. My floor is probably happy I've finished the game now with all the thumping I did with my feet when I fell off walking beams haha.
I was glad that Amy was just a side character because I never really liked her anyway. And Chip, although annoying at first, I totally grew to like him, and at the end of the game… well let's just say it was almost a tear jerker.
Anyway, thats enough of my review. Hope you love this game as much as I have :)
