"a little disappointing"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Single player mode. While there are some fantastic improvements on past versions overall it was a little disappointing. It seems very easy compared to past games I clocked it in 4 short sittings. The vehicles and weapon modifications are fantastic. Bravo dont seem to actually be able to drive the vehicles. They will hop in the drivers seat but when commanded to move they hop out and head off on foot. Team members also aim worse than a donkey with a slingshot. Unless they are in a vehicle then its one shot kills a lot of the time…even at full speed but get them prone with a sniper rifle and a high powered scope and they cannot hit a tank. They are still pretty useless on their own too, stick close or they will soon get themselves killed

The larger map areas are not what you would expect as most of the time they are just longer corridors In fact the approach options seem more limited.

i have yet to experience the multiple paths to mission resolution, have tried various levels several times and its always the same.

Generally the graphics are a lot better except for the command screen. This is quite hard to read and the font is a little cheesy. The commands have also been simplified and some important ones lost. i.e. You can no longer order bravo to do anything but MOVE to a location no STEALTH or LEAD TO commands. I expected more control over team members not less. So not a great review but i would still suggest Socom fans indulge themselves but maybe dont rush. Anyone who has not played the other 2 will probably love it so go for gold.
