David Gest grew up in California and started working in the music industry when still in his teens. Starting out in music PR, he made his first million while still in his twenties and has made and lost several fortunes since. He is friends with and has worked with some true musical legends as well as countless Hollywood stars. In 2002 he produced Michael Jackson's 30th anniversary spectacular, which remains the highest rated live music event in American TV history.
