"a work of art"

played original silent hunter and aces of the deep so long ago now I must be getting ancient for games. We raved at the time the wonderful sub sims they were. silent hunter 2 was never as good. In the game world subsims are a big risk. ubi soft ROMANIA took that risk and have won big time I hope the sales reflect this work of art. The AI makes other subsims arcade like. the atmosphere makes you feel you are in that theature of war. Graphics good. A slightly high learning curve it is a sim. High ram requirement for good performance. If ever a sim grabs you by the throat and makes you believe this is real this game is it

Ok, i must admit i was very exicited about getting this game and waiting for it seemed like a life time, i was also very paranoid that it might turn out like Silent Hunter 2, which for those that never played it was practically a forgotten game the day after it came out, bad AI, average graphics, and no Dynamic Campaign! But Let me say Silent hunter 3 is like going from owning a Lada and updating to a Ferrai.

SH3 is such a good game its no wonder www.subsim.com reviewer gave it a score of 100. This game has everything a navy gamer would expect, fantastic graphics, excellent AI, a realistic mode that would even put the hardcore submariners to shame and most important a Dynamic Campaign, meaning everytime you play a campaign its different each time! Replayable for ever! A 3d crew and you are able to walk around inside your sub, each internal sub type also looks different. Realistic mode is very hard with everything enabled, but for the newbie you can choose what you want on /off . On the Bridge cruising along gives you the feeling that you are there, when submerged its even better, those depth charges are also damn teriffiying when close and the AI will find you. Your crew will freak out and you need to manage them eg, give them rest etc., When back at port you are able to buy parts, crew or update your crew, medals etc., and a new sub if your renown points are high. Simply put, Silent Hunter 3 is the God of subsims. BUY IT. Played on AthlonXP 2600, 768ram, GeforceFX 5700 128 ram, Winxp pro

This game has it all…Stunning cinematic visuals that you don't need a new $1000 gfx card to appreciate(I have a GeForce FX 5200 128mb card and it runs pretty well with only a few stutters during explosions and smoke,etc.),3d crews and ship interiors that create that total immersion feel,an ocean that actually looks like an ocean, superb gameplay that that can be tweaked for as much realism as you like, and a historically accurate dynamic campaign that makes you really think you are in a war.

If you have any interest in WWII at all,get it,you won't regret it.
