Saikano is a story about two characters falling in love at the end of the world. Chise has become a weapon to defend her country, and because of this is stuck between duty and her love for Shuji. The story is very sad, as the two characters go through many developments, hardships and tragedies.

She, the Ultimate Weapon tells the story of two teenagers, Shuji and Chise, who fall in love. Soon after a war starts and Shuji finds out that Chise has been turned into the Ultimate Weapon. If you see the words Ultimate Weapon and are expecting an action series you won't find it here as the show focus on the characters of the series. Gonzo, the animation studio, did an excellent job at staying true to the manga while also making the anime be beautiful in terms of animation and story. The DVD contains some awesome special features where you get to know the voice actors and the creators. In the end if you are looking for a tragic story about love, life and war then She, the Ultimate Weapon is for you.
