Jan Fearnley grew up in South Shields, on Tyneside, the youngest of six children. After studying graphic design in Newcastle, she went on to become a primary school teacher in London before becoming a full-time writer and illustrator. Her picture books include Watch Out, Wilf! and Mr Wolf and the Three Bears, which won the Gold Award for Illustration from the Association of Illustrators.
