6.85% of people buy Schleich: Kangaroo and Schleich: Donkey.
There are 65 kangaroo species – ranging from the small tree-kangaroo to the red giant kangaroo, which is the largest of all. When it stands upright, it is as tall as an adult human.
The word “kangaroo” comes from the language of the Aborigines, Australia's indigenous people. It basically means “I don't understand”, which was the answer given to British navigator James Cook when he asked what the animal was. What a misunderstanding! These marsupials have a kind of rubber band in their hind legs. It propels them upwards with each jump. The faster a kangaroo bounces, the farther the animal is “catapulted” forwards, and the less energy it consumes. Even though it can achieve a breathtaking speed of 64 km/h, there is one thing it cannot do: walk backwards.
Suitable for Ages 3 & up
Schleich was founded by Friedrich Schleich in 1935. Its figurines were first released in the 1950s with the development, production and marketing of comic figurines such as Snoopy and The Smurfs. In the early 1980s they added animal figurines and Muppet characters to their range of products.
