If you enjoy the Samurai or Dynasty Warriors Games then I would Highly recommend this game which brings some new changes; however, overall it is still the same ‘button-mashing’, ‘hack and slash’ game that Koei is infamous for.
The new additions to Samurai Warriors 2 includes a few new characters, new costumes, and most importantly the newly added special moves :-)
Every warrior is now equipped with two special moves which range from planting bombs, to summoning a musket support strike on unsuspecting foes.
Like all games in the ‘Warriors’ Games created by Koei, it is predictable and becomes quite repetitive very quickly with tedious replayability limited to uncovering new weapons, leveling up characters, and slashing hordes of repetitive and unintelligent foes.
Overall, it is enjoyable for a short time and quickly becomes dull and competitive, interest in this game is definitely limited to fans of Koei's Warriors series of games, so if you love cutting down swarms of samurai and ninja with simple button mashing, then this is the game for you :-)
