warning!!! follow-up review – if one player – game is a 9 out of 10. If multi-player however, unbelievably, if you try and control ot become the support player and position yourself, the ball is always knoecked on or bounces off you etc etc – ruins any co-op play totally – UNBELIEVABLE.

2 steps forward for single player, but two steps back for co-op…

have not had a one on one yet – but wld also be great as no issue with controlling more than one person. This bug is a HUGE let down and will be more thoroughly brought to light in time…

not good enough, especially when game is really good (as is really just a PES equivalent tweak of last gme)… no late tackles or early allowed so no more hammering people without ball instead of defending properly, better camera views etc etc… but, somehow, they removed an ability that was inherent and required from the first – support play and the freedom of movement…

"Rugby 08 = Poor"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Rugby 2008 definitely a big let down. Here I am, I get the game on the release date from GamePlanet (great service again) thinking this is going to be mean and boy was I wrong.

Lets just say don’t buy it if you own rugby 2006 not much difference at all very very very poor from ea.

Its like they have put no effort in to it at all. For example Like the new rugby challenge function you go to play in the 95 world cup and you haven’t even got the 95 world cup squad to play with you have to use todays all black team.

So basically they have made a couple of changes in the rucks mauls and lineout. Other then that basically every thing else is the same except you get penalised a lot more for doing foul play and player updates. Even the player stats are still poor Nick Evans is still slow its just a poor game don’t buy it unless your a rugby freak and want a couple of updates.

Experience all of the passion and excitement of Rugby World Cup 2007 in France as you challenge the best teams and players ever assembled for global supremacy. A nation’s destiny is in your hands when you take control of one of the officially licensed national teams in EA SPORTS Rugby 08 and power your way through a gruelling Rugby World Cup 2007 campaign for the sports’ ultimate prize - the glorious Webb Ellis Cup.

This is the season you take complete control of managing your favourite squad as EA SPORTS Rugby 08 enables you to emulate the style of your favourite team on offence and now on defence. Using new, authentic defensive formations, adjust your defence on-the-fly to keep momentum on your side or counter your opponent’s attacking style by changing your defensive strategy based on score, field position and more.

This year EA SPORTS Rugby 08 introduces a layered pick-up-and-play control system for set pieces and drop kicks. Now you take full command over every scrum and maul with enhanced push and rotation controls. Make lineout throw-ins look easy with a simplified control scheme for the novice player and advanced mechanics for the pro. Master the new kicking meter to score those key penalties and conversions, while new truck and zoom camera angles zero in on all the breakdown and set piece action during the game’s biggest moments.

In addition to enabling gamers to participate in Rugby World Cup 2007 by taking control of one of 20 national teams, the game features a new, compelling mode of play named Rugby World Cup Challenge. Testing even the most hardcore rugby fan, it re-creates the biggest moments in Rugby World Cup history and challenges you to re-write the results with today’s teams to unlock exclusive Rugby World Cup highlight videos.
