Description

Velocity 300 Rack Mount Guitar PowerAmp.

The Rocktron Velocity 300 Rack Power Amp was designed in a joint effort between Rocktron and integrated circuitry design engineer Derek Bowers. The Velocity 300 provides 150 watts/channel when used in stereo applications or 300 watts mono bridged into a 8 ohm load!

The Velocity 300 poweramp has a unique “Reactance” circuit that actually replicates the output impedance of tube amplifiers—so you can get the same great sound that a tube amplifier delivers in a reliable solid state design. And, because it is a variable control, you can customize your Velocity 300 to sound like any of your favorite tube amps. Best of all, this feature is available in the mono bridged mode too!

In addition, the Velocity 300 has “Definition” controls to give you that little bit of edge you need to bring your playing out in the mix. It also has automatic short circuit protection, which detects problems and shuts down the amplifier before any internal damage can be done.

Features:

  • 115/230 VAC voltage selector switch.
  • Up to 150 watts per channel stereo, up to 300 watts mono bridged
  • 1 rack space
  • Built in detection circut shuts down amp, if amp is plugged in improperly.
  • Reactance control for tube amp replication
  • Easily accessible individual line fuses protect the unit's output devices from failure under extreme conditions
  • Thermostatically controlled cooling system ensures that the internal fan will only turn on when the unit reaches a certain temperature.
  • Silent on/off switching
  • An AC power detect circuit, which ensures that the amplifier outputs shut down first when AC is removed. This will guard against any thumps or pops that could otherwise occur, potentially damaging speakers when power is cut to the amplifier.
  • Differential input buffers to eliminate ground loop hum coming from the power amp

Rocktron has been designing power amplifiers specifically for guitar players since the early 1990’s.

User Reviews
“I waited a while to write a review, because I depend on truthful, accurate reviews for my purchases, and wanted to extend the same courtesy. I use this stereo amp with a Fractal AxeFx II, and it sounds phenomenal. I run it through a Marshall 1960A cab with Vintage 30s in the two top slots, and couldn't be happier. I use this for my home studio so never have to run too loud, but the amp gives you the feeling that it has loads of headroom and if run half-way open would shake the house. I have noticed that it runs warm but not too hot, but would recommend that you leave a rackspace open above and below for venting, if you intend to use at high power.” ram16821

“I purchased this to go with my new Eleven Rack. I have been playing for 20 years. I own several tube amps. This unit sounds great and the controls actually work. I was surprised how heavy it was but that is not an issue. It seems well built and should hold up to most abuse. This would be a great addition for the gigging guy because its solid state, so no worries about tubes going etc.” RL

“I have a Rocktron Voodoo Valve running through this thing and it's been a good power amp. It sounds about as good (or bad, depending on how you look at it) as any solid state power amp I've ever used, but it takes up SO LITTLE SPACE that it really stands apart. The sound, like many solid state power sections, is a little sterile (I like a little more "bounce” in my power, and have been actually running solid state PREamps through Tube power amps for years and years). But it's adjustable to an extent and it can really fill up a set of 4×4×12" cabs. Overall, between the form factor and the price point, it seems like a good value to me." rm98119

“Sounds like a Marshall! Been playing for 25 years and the velocity sounds amazing. Running a Rocktron Chameleon through it and I can get any sound I want, including those created by an expensive Marshall. I like Marshall equipment but for a fraction of the price this was a good purchase.” Diplomat
