Photographer Lynn Goldsmith explores the world of rock and roll from the inside. Her vast body of work is a testament to her commitment to the music and while most photographers' work is a record of their assignments, "Goldsmith's" is a record of her life. Beginning in the late 1960's, she plunged into the scene, filming concerts, directing documentaries, launching her own music career and befriending artists (sometimes co-writing songs with the), all the while taking brilliant photographs. Equally at home in the portrait studio and shooting reportage, she compiled an unparalleled portfolio of hard-to-get images. Her range has been amazing - whether the subject was punk, alternative, commercial pop or the rarefied world of the superstars of rock, Goldsmith has rare and unusual photographs.
Lynn Goldmith's work has appeared on and between the covers of Life, Time, Rolling Stone, Elle and many other magazines. Eight books of her photographs have been published Bruce Springsteen, The Police, New Kids, Circus Dreams, PhotoDiary, Springsteen: Access All Areas and Flower. She has been a consistent contributor to the highly acclaimed series Day in the Life books as well as many other photography collections. She has won numerous awards for her photography.
