Intro: I got this mouse after the sensor in my Razer Naga stopped working, the Naga had many buttons and it was hard for me to use the ones closer to the back of the mouse. The Roccat Nyth fixes that issue with the ability to add larger buttons that are easier to press. This results in me getting more than enough buttons (especially with easy shift) while still being able to use them with relative ease.
Shape and Build Quality:The shape of the mouse is a little taller than I'd like and ends up being slightly taxing on my wrist (the Naga in this area did not have this problem), but the shape of this mouse is much better for me than it is on other Roccat mice. The mouse lacks a weight system, while not many mice have this, it is one thing that I'd really like to see in a revision if there is one. The build quality and materials for this mouse do look and feel good however
Software: The software really lets this product down though, a lack of customisation options for the macros is a big issue for me, Roccat Swarms software gives you the ability to record macros, like every other peripheral software I have tried, but the macros are limited to toggle and can only loop up to 255 times. This is just poor in my opinion, every single other software out there that I have tried can do infinite loops, some even give you the option between hold and toggle, as well as single use, one of the Madcatz mice even let you toggle mouse clicks which is an edge case for use but I have found myself wishing other mice could do that. Why Roccats macro software doesn't allow infinite loops is beyond me and I have found myself trying to work around this issue, and it is definitely a learning process.
Possible Software Bugs: One other issue I currently have with the software is that every time I load it up, it creates copies of my macros, applies the 1st copy to the button I have set it to, and the macro doesn't work, so, every time I load up the software, I have to go into my macros, and delete all the copies, then reset all my macros, if I want them to work, this is a rather tedious process, I don't know if this is a problem for everyone, but just be aware, lastly, the software cannot bind right click to anything other than the right click button that is hard-coded, meaning pressing right click while using easy shift, doesn't right click, I believe this is an oversight and hope it gets patched.
Conclusion: Good mouse in terms of build quality and options, shape may not suit everyone (this is however the case for all mice, but I feel like this one is to a slightly greater extent), software is really bad for macros, and some button assignments (being unintuitive in places), all other parts of the software however do function well in my experience. I would exercise caution before deciding to buy this, but for those who don't want macros but do want many buttons and good build quality, this mouse is worth consideration. If the software ever gets fixed/upgraded to eliminate the bugs/oversights I listed, I'd give this mouse an extra star as that is the big detracting factor.
