Robot Chicken is old-fashioned stop-motion animation as envisioned by creater Seth Green (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Austin Powers fame). Seth Green got together with his friends and created a show about shows. Robot Chicken episodes are short (about 10 or 15 minutes), but include a collection of skits that make fun of actors, other shows, or are just plain hilarious originality. Also, the ‘channel flips’ (i.e. the small segments of show that one comes across while changing channels) are clever too.
While some of the skits are far-out or hard to understand as they relate to US pop-culture, the show is altogether a great laugh. And for such a good price, it's well worth it, especially as a gift for teens. Also keep an eye out for seasons 2 and 3, and the Robot Chicken Star Wars special. Excellent watching!
