Dehumanized by regimentation, bureaucratization, and indiscriminate violence, they are growing more numerous in today's society. In this searing book, Lewis Yablonsky sees them as the outcome of the struggle between humanity and its technological servants-whether computers, automobiles, or H-bombs.
