Author Biography

"Peter O'Reilly is Ireland's leading authority on the trout and salmon fishing for which his country is justifiably famous. Peter recently retired from his job as Game Angling Advisor to the Central Fisheries Board of Ireland, assessing the angling potential of the rivers and loughs. It was a job which took him to all corners of the country, visiting fisheries and talking to local experts, anglers and fishery managers about the condition of their fisheries and how they might be further improved. He is a regular contributor to Trout & Salmon magazine. He has lectured on angling at University College Dublin and is a fully qualified AGPAI flycasting instructor. His courses at Delphi Lodge and Ballynahinch Castle are much in demand and he also gives tuition on a one-to-one basis. If you would like more information on Peter's courses or private tuition you can email Peter O'Reilly. Peter is an avid and skilful angler. He has represented his country at international level, not only at flyfishing but also, together with his son Patrick, as a member of the Irish Clay Pigeon Team. He lives in Navan, County Meath with his wife Rose, within sight of the River Boyne. From his house he can (almost) see the trout rising."
