"Absolutely Brilliant"

The Wii version is best, the controls are great. This is the best game on Wii beside Mario Galaxy. Buy it!

"The Definitive Version"
5 stars"

This is the definitive edition of this now classic game.

True Widescreen (unlike the Gamecube version) + 480p goodness.

Plays like a dream with the wii-mote. Not too sure how the other reviewer had trouble with it?! I never want to go back to aiming with an analog stick again!

  • Many bonus missions not in the original game.

If you are an adult gamer with a Wii, you should own this game.

Resident evil 4 wii edition is the remake of this 2005 game on the gamecube and then ps2. If your crazy enough not to have played it back then you MUST play this now and at great price. Intuitive, elegant controls make playing RE4 a joy all over again. Nail-biting action features creepy enemies and giant bosses. Top-notch production values create an atmosphere of tension and dread. Long, suspenseful story and excellent replay value make this a steal. The list of weapons and extras make this a great game to hold on to for a long time

"Stick with the GC version"
5 stars"

The Gamecube version of this game is better than this Wii version. I found the Wii controls a bit difficult to get used to esp with the aiming. I have played the GC version of this game 3 times already and despite that, I found the Wii version considerably harder. You have to use more ammo to dispatch the enemies and you take more damage as well. (This is all on normal mode of course). Despite this, you get the same amount of ammo and recovery herbs that you do in the other versions.

The game itself is one of the best games I've played – ever. There are many weapons to unlock after the first playthrough and there are also side missions that you can do. This is a ‘must have’ game for anyone that enjoys action/shooting games.

"Deserves its Reputation"

This game has truly stood the test of time – after over 6 years since the GameCube game was released, it still remains an awesome game.

While this version of the game is widescreen and (supposedly) has had graphical improvements since its previous consoles, I can't say I've noticed the difference.

For those who don't play games often, or who play mostly PC games, using a joystick to aim can be rather clumsy and difficult to pick up. This version's use of the Wii's point-and -shoot controls make it far easier to aim than before. To help you even more, the controller vibrates and the aiming reticle changes colour whenever you aim at an enemy. Using this, it's hard to miss your targets.

If you played Resident Evil 5 before this (like I did), it may take some adjustment to the fact that you can't strafe (walk side-to-side). Like Resident Evil games in general, the controls may feel awkward and clumsy to begin with – it just takes some getting used to.

While the Wii Edition deserves its name as the currently definitive version of the game, note that a High Definition version of this and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X are being released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late 2011.

Any version of Resident Evil 4, however, is a worthy addition to any game library

Great story, awesome controls, make this the must have for all Resident Evil fans. The point and click works well with the wii I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect the most not to forget the unforgettable story line that has you against hordes of infected villagers and huge monsters. If you liked playing this on Gamecube or PS2 like myself you will absolutely love this version.Top marks well done Nintendo

"Freaking awesome!"
5 stars"

Great controls and atmospherics!!! This game is definitely one that I turn back to every now and then when stress levels are high :)

It's not the easiest game to complete, but it certainly isn't the hardest. What makes this really great is the extra mini games! I'll leave those for you to discover on your own.

This game is best played late at night, with the stereo loud, and no one around (you hope!)…

"Mean Fun"

I think the wii version of this game leaves ps2 and gc lagging behind as with the advanced wii controls resident evil has never been as fun. The wiimote ensures countless head shots.

"Its a bargain at that price!"

This is my new absolute favourite game for the Wii. So much fun and so moody. The soundtrack is amazing and the graphics hold up well. The control of the game with the Wiimote + Nanchuck is smooth and groundbreaking.
